Words to define the word genuine are real, bona fide, authentic, sincerely or honestly felt. In our world of artificial sweeteners, virtual reality, social media sharing of photos and experiences that show and perhaps embellish people’s lives there is too much concern, care, and comparison for what other people are doing and not enough focus on what is genuine and authentic for us.

What about our genuine experiences? By watching someone else delicious food will you able to taste and enjoy the food? Nope. By watching someone enjoy sitting on a sunny beach or a dinner with friends and family will you be able to enjoy their experience? Nope.

The only way for all of us to fully experience our life is to be genuine in our experiences. Our experiences need to be tailor made for who we are as people and what brings us joy and happiness NOT what we see others doing. There has never been and will never be one size fits all.

Yesterday I was enjoying the great outdoors by clearing out the woods behind our house to be well, less woody. I was immersed in genuine.  I was clearing, moving, cutting, and sweating big time.  It was all real and honestly felt. No virtual reality or checking out someones social media could have given me the same experience. The sweat pouring out of me was as authentic as it gets. Later in the evening when I was looking at the less woody woods the joy my satisfaction felt complete. I could sincerely feel my genuine.

There is an expression that a picture is worth a thousand words. According to Wikipedia “It refers to the notion that a complex idea can be conveyed with just a single picture, this picture conveys its meaning or essence more effectively than a description does”.  Maybe this is the case sometimes. If someone had taken a picture of me clearing the woods there is no way it would have conveyed the complete meaning of what I was working really hard to accomplish. There were intense battles with some of the foliage I was changing around.

After, picture of woods, more clear, more visibility to see the fields and wild life. During and after, picture of me, drenched in sweat, caked with dirt, and a wheelbarrow that tipped over at the end spilling all my tools everywhere.

My challenge today is for you to become your genuine you! To have experiences that are your size and speed. To step away from looking to see what others are posting (or even what you are posting yourself) to jump in and immerse yourself in your experiences. Get out and play in your dirt and life. Even single one of us has the intuition of feelings to know what makes us happy and what does not. Feelings are kinda like food. You know what you like to eat and you know what makes you go yuck! Go do you and bring your amazing, authentic, wonderful to the world❤️ We need you!

I will leave you with this great quote by R. Buckmister Fuller😊

“Never forget that you are one of a kind. Never forget that if there weren’t any need for you in all your uniqueness to be on this earth, you wouldn’t be here in the first place. And never forget, no matter how overwhelming life’s challenges and problems seem to be, that one person can make a difference in the world. In fact, it is always because of one person that all the changes that matter in the world come about. So be that one person. ”

Thank you for being you and bringing your you to the world💝
