The window over my kitchen sink has been dirty for let’s say a fairly long time. This space between the glass and screen has been home to a few leaves (I do not know how they got there), a few spider webs, some other assorted treasures, and the glass definitely needed to be cleaned. For many days, weeks, perhaps months I would think about cleaning it because it bugged me. Then another day, week, perhaps month would pass with no action. Until the other day.
“If not now then when” Unknown
On this fateful day I was musing the same thoughts while doing dishes and before I knew it I had the screens out of the window, taking them outside for some desperately needed scrubbing and washing. While they dried outside I went in to clear out the items from the window and then used some handy dandy window cleaner and cloths to wash the glass multiple times. By then the screens had dried so I placed them back into their spots in the windows.

I was shocked at what a difference cleaning the window and screens did to my view of the outdoors. There was such clarity of the outside. I clearly could see the grass, the birds, and the trees. By taking action to clean this window had grand results . There was clarity in seeing the outside world and clarity in my brain. Part of my thinking space was no longer occupied with thoughts about a dirty window I wanted to clean. It also give me the energy and momentum to tackle a few other items I had been thinking about doing and not doing.

My learning from this dirty cleaning window experience is if I am being haunted by ongoing thoughts of an action I want to take to something is to do the something. I have mental freedom after I cleaned the dirty kitchen window and now experience joy every time I look out the clean window. Perhaps remarkable person you have some things in your life where you keep feeling you need, or want, to take an action on. I say from experience if these ongoing thoughts are ongoing it is time to “just do it.” Your action will free up your mental energy and give you momentum energy in your life.
May your window cleaning be with you💜
